GVS Chorus Students Selected for All-County Music Festival
This year, an impressive number of Green Vale students performed in the 2022 Nassau All-County Music Festival. To be selected for All-County, students must score among the top student musicians who have performed solos for the NYSSMA Festival the previous spring. Once selected, students prepare a program of music in a week of intensive rehearsals, culminating in a performance at the Tilles Center in January.
“Entrance into All-County is highly competitive,” says choral teacher Jessica Chen. “Performing a NYSSMA solo at a high level, studying music in preparation for All-County, and participating in the intensive rehearsals takes much motivation and dedication. We are so proud of our hard-working musicians!”
Green Vale’s All-County Division II performers include Molly Lamb (chorus), Sophie Kasouf (chorus), Tristan Amparo (chorus), Adetola Babatunde (chorus), and Alexander Yarian (chorus). Division III performers include Charlotte Lee (chorus), Shayla Durrett (chorus), and Penelope Chun (orchestra).
